Detailed Travel Itineary : 4 Day Dong Van Plateau – Ha Giang Adventure

Day 1: Hanoi to Ha Giang City (320km – 6 hours’ drive). Overnight in Ha Giang City (L)

At 8:00 a.m., our experienced driver and knowledgeable tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi. Prepare for a picturesque 6-hour journey to Ha Giang city, where you’ll be impressed by the serene countryside vistas along the way.

Enjoy a local lunch of Vietnamese dishes at a local restaurant en route.

On the way, pay a visit to Vi Xuyen War Memorial Site, which commemorate Vietnamese solders who died for the country’s protection on Vietnam- China border war between 1979 and the 1990s

In the afternoon, you will reach Ha Giang city, our guide will lead you to Tha Village for a delightful stroll, offering an authentic glimpse into the daily life of the Tay ethnic group.

Back to Ha Giang City, settle into your chosen accommodation, whether it be a cozy hotel or a welcoming homestay. Feel free to wander and discover the charms of Ha Giang City at your own pace.

Day 2: Journey through Dong Van Geopark to Quan Ba, Yen Minh and Dong Van Districts (180km – 8-hour drive with scenic stops) (B,L)

08:00 AM – Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Your guide and driver meet you at the lobby and begin the adventure toward Dong Van Global Geopark.

09:30 AM – Arrive at Quan Ba Heaven Gate for a panoramic viewpoint stop. Capture stunning photos of the valley and the iconic Twin Mountains (Fairy Breasts).

10:15 AM – Continue the drive through the winding mountain route surrounded by majestic pine forests.

12:00 PM – Reach Yen Minh town and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before resuming the journey.

01:00 PM – Begin the afternoon exploration through Dong Van Geopark, stopping at:

• Tham Ma Pass – admire the dramatic views of the mountains & winding pass

• Vuong Palace (H’Mong King Palace) – explore the historic royal residence of the H’Mong King

• Lo Lo Chai Village – visit a traditional ethnic village known for its unique earthen houses

05:00 PM – Arrive in Dong Van town. Check in to your selected hotel or homestay.

Evening – Free time to relax and explore Dong Van at leisure. You may take a walk around the ancient quarter or enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 3 : Dong Van Geopark Adventure with Ma Pi Leng Skypath Hike & Nho Que boat ride – Ha Giang city.Overnight in Ha Giang city (B,L)

07:00 AM . Enjoy breakfast at your hotel / homestay in Dong Van town.

07:45 AM . If it is Sunday, begin the day with a vibrant cultural experience at the Dong Van Sunday Market. Wander through colorful stalls filled with local produce, handmade crafts, traditional clothing, and the lively atmosphere of ethnic minorities gathering for weekly trade.

08:30 AM. Depart Dong Van for the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, known as one of the four greatest mountain passes in Vietnam.

09:00 AM – Start a scenic hike on the Ma Pi Leng Skywalk – a cliff-side trail offering jaw-dropping views over the deep canyon and the jade-green Nho Que River. Take your time to enjoy breathtaking photo stops along the mountain ridge.

11:00 AM . Transfer down to Ta Lang / Pa Vi wharf and board a boat for a memorable cruise along the Nho Que River. Admire the majestic Tu San Canyon – the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia – from right on the water.

12:30 PM . Return to the pier and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

01:30 PM . After lunch, drive back toward Ha Giang city along picturesque mountain roads, passing ethnic villages and sweeping landscapes along the way.

06:30 PM . Arrive in Ha Giang city and check in to your hotel.

Evening. Free time to rest and relax after a fulfilling day of exploration. Overnight in Ha Giang.

Day 4 : Ha Giang city back to Hanoi (320km – in 6 hour drive).Overnight in your booked hotel (B, L)

Begin your day with a breakfast featuring Pho, a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup with chicken or beef. After breakfast, take an 6-hour driving journey back to Hanoi.

En route, enjoy a delicious lunch served in Tuyen Quang or Phu Tho, savoring the flavors of the region.

Anticipate arriving in Hanoi around 4:00 p.m.,marking the end of your 4 day Ha Giang Adventure. See you again for another memorable trip to Vietnam
