Day-by-Day Itinerary

8:00 AM, our tourguide & driver will pick your family up & depart to Pu Luong Nature Reserve (4 hr drive) via endless breathtaking mountain passes giving you wonderful view of mountains & valleys in Northwest Vietnam.

Lunch of local Vietnamese dishes will be served in a local restaurant.

Pu Luong waterwheels

Continue driving to Ban Cong commune, where you will start a 1.5 hour hiking trip along small roads of Thai’s villages. You will be fascinated by plenty of water-wheels, a unique cultural feature of Thai and Muong people living in the nature reserve.Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from river to handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes.

Arriving at a local fisherman’s home, you have a short rest to gear up for the bamboo river rafting along Cham stream with his team. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, in between learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts

Late afternoon, have our driver pick up & drive to the core area of Pu Luong nature reserve.Check in the hotel & free at leisure.

Today is our full day trek up the mountains & down the valleys of Pu Luong forest : chances for admiring beautiful mountainscapes & rustic villages & interacting with local Thai ethnics.

After breakfast, you check out the rooms and ready for a scenic hike between Don – Uoi villages & Lan Trong – Lan Ngoai villages

A picnic -lunch will served en route.

Then continue hiking across Co Lung village to reach Hieu village – a poetic one on a high mountain slope with a peaceful Hieu waterfall running day & night.

Check – in a local homestay of Black Thai Ethnic, have a cosy dinner with the family and spend our night here.

You can have an early wake-up to enjoy peaceful life of a rural village with the rouster’s songs, fresh air & nice view of surrounding mountains.
 
After breakfast, we will have a short hike down the hills to the meeting point, where our driver is waiting & get transfered to Pho Doan town. From there, you will start a 3 hour trek up the mountain trails from Uoi village across the forest to Kho Muong hamlet, a beautiful village nested in the wild valley in the heart of Pu Luong nature reserve. The hamlet is all surrounded by mountains of green primeval jungles and the home to 60 households with 300 inhabitants of Black Thai ethnics.

Upon arrival to Kho Muong, we will stroll around to explore the village & pay a visit to Kho Muong grotto, the biggest cave in Pu Luong region. After a lunch of local dishes with a local family, you will trek up to NR15C & get our private car picked up for for a 4 hour drive back to Hanoi capital.
