Discover Mui Dien Cape: the Easternmost Point of Vietnam for a Breathtaking Sunrise Experience
Mui Dien Cape in Phu Yen : its location & history
Dien Cape ( Mui Dien in Vietnamese), also known as Dai Lanh Cape or Vietnam's Easternmost Point, is situated in Phuoc Tan Hamlet, Hoa Tam Commune, Dong Hoa District, Phu Yen Province. It is surrounded by lush greenery that stretches out to the sea, making it the easternmost point in Vietnam where the first sunrise is welcomed in land.

In the late 19th century, a French officer named Varella discovered the importance of this area on the world maritime map and named it Cap Varella. In 1890, the French built a lighthouse to guide ships into Vung Ro bay. Despite being destroyed during the war, the lighthouse was rebuilt and operated again in 1995. It is now one of the eight lighthouses in Vietnam that are over 100 years old, and the closest one to international waters. In recognition of its historical significance and stunning beauty, Mui Dien Cape was declared a National Landscape Monument by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 2008.

At Vietnam's Easternmost Point, tourists can explore the mountains and enjoy the cool water of the nearby Mon Beach on sunny summer days. The magnificent lighthouse, overlooking the sea from a distance, stands tall and is a sight to behold. At night, lying on a camping site and listening to the sound of the waves while gazing at the sparkling lighthouse in the middle of the sea will be an unforgettable experience.
