Can drivers speak English
As a local & licensed tour operator in Vietnam, Golden Holiday Travel do providing free travel consultancy to their customers and help them with Vietnam travel packages as well as travel services to explore Vietnam’s beautiful destinations.Some of our clients plan their Vietnam Holiday themselves and need to rent a private car with driver. It is fine, we try our best to support them with suggested itineraries, places to visit, type of cars and the related qoutations.However, we are challenging with this question “ Can your driver speak English?” and we would like to reply you in this article and how we support our clients when our drivers can’t use English properly for communication.

Like most of Vietnamese population ( please, read English speaking in Vietnam), our drivers can’t use English properly for communication due to their limited background of English training in Vietnam ( mainly teach students the writing & reading skills with grammar rules & vacabularies).However, they are experienced in driving & serving travellers in this non-smoking industry. How do we support our customers when their facing language barriers with driver?
In general, when you confirm booking with us, it is followed by our mutually-agreed travel itinerary of the places to visit, flight numbers, hotel names, we will send all those details to driver in Vietnamese and he will base on that travel program to serve you sequently.
Along the travel journey, you may need to request him to stop for toilets or photos or time to pick-up or drop-off in the hotel or to airport, that is a common sense for him getting to know about ! In some hard conversations, he can’t catch your ideas, he will call us and we will support you by phone calls.As usual, it is fine in that way and we have served thousands of foreign travellers renting private cars with us travelling to Vietnam

In another way, you can get a 3G Sim Cards ( Viettel or Vina) in Vietnam, in case of language barriers, you can use “Google Translate” from English into Vietnamese, that is a fast & convenient solution of misunderstandng as well.
